ACDC power module potting requirements
Power module potting materials are commonly divided into three categories: epoxy resin, polyurethane and silicone rubber
Epoxy resin can not be used for stress-sensitive and module potting containing patch components due to hardness, and is basically eliminated in module power supplies. However, due to its low cost, this epoxy resin is also used in micro-power supplies with high cost requirements. Some domestic bad power supply manufacturers also use this epoxy resin for AC-DC power modules. But due to stress problems, the failure rate of this power supply is very high, and the purchaser is miserable.
At present, the most used in the potting of the power module is to use the molded silicone to potting, this silicone is generally 1:1 ratio, easy to operate, and pay attention to its thermal conductivity when designing the potting of the AC-DC power module. However, the bonding ability is not very strong, and can be improved by using primer.
Polyurethane has been used in China for a period of time, but because of its high hardness, inconvenient maintenance, coupled with silicone rubber price reduction factors, the cost performance of polyurethane is not high. There is no application of it in China.
